Knitting Masterclass. Knitwear Design and Entrelac

Last weeks private Knitting Masterclass and lunch was great fun.
We covered Entrelac, Knitwear design and Pattern compilation.
Lorraine designed her own sweater and completed the size specification
according to her tension swatch.
Lots of number crunching followed as she worked out the number of
stitches and rows required for each part of pattern.
The Entrelac technique uses short rows, decreases
and picked up stitches, resulting in patchwork knitted all in one.
We used garter stitch for the swatch, but, you can use any stitch you like as long as the
stitch repeat matches the number of stitches or rows for each block.

The next Entrelac Knitting Workshop will be held at Castaway Yarns in Haxby, near York.

Sat 14th July – Knitting Entrelac

The Entrelac technique looks like magic, with the changing direction of the stitches. Audrey Wilson will show you how to use this technique using short rows, decreases and picked up stitches. Resulting in patchwork knit all in one.
1pm - 5pm.

  1. I like knitwear. And I actually got tons of books about knitting and how to knit, but I can never seem to be good at it. Enrolling at those class might be a good idea.
