Entrelac Cowl Knitting Pattern and Knitting Workshop at Castaway Yarns

The Entrelac knitting technique uses short rows, decreases and picked up stitches, the finished result is a patchwork effect, knit all in one with no seams.
This new, fabulous, on trend Entrelac Cowl knitting pattern was designed for my Entrelac knitting master class at Castaway Yarns. Knit in Aran and using Garter Stitch it’s a perfect pattern to use as an introduction to the technique.
Quick to knit using just under 200 grams of Aran Yarn.
Knit on 5mm knitting needles.
The gauge for the pattern is 20 stitches to 20 rows over 5”
using 5mm Knitting Needles in Garter Stitch.
The finished Cowl measures 14” x 24”. With a button band at the front, requiring 5 buttons.
Quick to knit and using very little yarn it’s a perfect first entrelac designer project.
Once mastered Cables and Intarsia can be introduced into the design. It also looks great using reversible textured stitches. Try adding Garter Stitch, Moss Stitch or Ribbing for texture.
Saturdays Entrelac Master class at Castaway Yarns in Haxby, near York was a great, fun filled afternoon. Full of concentrated stitch counts and laughter as the short rows and decreases were worked.
The Cake was fabulous (Thank you Jean)
